The Expendables will sing Saturday at Zippers.

A bit of sunny California's surf sound is headed Saturday to Zippers, 326 S. Union Ave.

The Expendables is a four-piece, award-winning band from Santa Cruz. Known for a distinctive live performance and unique musical style - a mix of rock, reggae and surf - the quartet is fast becoming a full-time touring act.

The Pueblo stop is one of three in Colorado.

To date, The Expendables group has performed with in-demand acts such as Slightly Stoopid and reggae legend Eek-A-Mouse; appeared live on the Vans’ Warped Tour; and hosted its own radio show in Santa Cruz.

The Expendables have released three albums: "No Time to Worry," "Open Container" and "Gettin' Filthy." Critics have called the songs on these records catchy and radio-friendly.

In a nutshell: if you like groups like Sublime and 311, you'll dig The Expendables.

Check out myspace.com/theexpendables or theexpendables.net to learn more.

Tickets for the 9 p.m. show cost $10. Call 545-3313 for more information.
